Top 3 Reasons for Buying a Used Caravan
Posted on May 29, 2013
When you’re thinking of investing in a caravan, deciding whether to buy new or used is not always easy. There are pros and cons to both, but as with the majority of things in life, it all comes down to cost. And in this case, second hand caravans are always going to be the cheaper option than buying brand new. If you’re still not convinced here are 3 top reasons why you should buy a used caravan:
Just like with brand new cars, as soon as you drive your new caravan off that showroom floor or forecourt it will lose a significant percentage of its value. After two or three years, your caravan could be worth a fraction of the price it was when it was brand new. The better option would be to look into buying a used caravan that’s only around 2 years older so it’s still relatively new without the hefty price tag.
2. Good Condition
A new caravan will obviously be in excellent condition, however you’ll also find that they majority of second hand caravans are also in very good condition as they have been taken care of by their previous owners. Another advantage is that you may well find that the previous owners have added a few extras as well as the odd mod con of their own to make the holidaying experience that little bit more practical and convenient.
3. If You’re A First Time Caravanner
If you’re new to the caravan scene buying a used caravan could be the ideal start for you. Picking up an inexpensive, second hand caravan can give you a chance to test out the waters and see whether you’re really cut out for holidaying in a caravan. If you’re just starting out it makes sense to try it out at a low cost first.
